Press Release:

Together for sustainability: TESTEX joins ZDHC!

TESTEX joins the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Roadmap to Zero Programme and so actively underlines its sustainability efforts. The foundation's goal is to eliminate the use of priority hazardous chemicals in the textile, leather and footwear production.
"As an independent testing and certification institute for textile- and leather goods we operate at the gateway between brands and their manufacturers. With the admission to the ZDHC programme we aim to act as link between our customers and the programme's signatory brands, thereby creating added-value." says Marc Sidler about the motives for joining ZDHC.

ZDHC in detail
The ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme focusses on the core elements of eliminating the use of prior-ity hazardous chemical substances. The creation of a "Manufacturing Restricted Substances List" (MRSL) stands at the centre of the programme. The list indicates hazardous chemicals whose usage is either prohibited or strictly limited to certain values. The chemical module "ZDHC Gateway" ensures the conformity with their Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) for the textile production.

TESTEX and textile sustainability
Sustainability is one of the most important topics of today. Thereby corporate responsibility is an es-sential contribution to a healthy environment for all of society. At TESTEX we take this responsibility very seriously. This is also reflected in our certification portfolio. ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®, for example, verifies chemicals for a sustainable textile- and leather production. Certified chemical sub-stances are listed as MRSL compliant in the ZDHC Gateway. With the admission to the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme we wish to actively contribute to the reduction of environmental pollution and act as a link between signatory brands and manufacturers within the initiative.
